The phrase "comya or binya" is a term rooted in the African American, Gullah/Geechee culture meaning a person who has come to the region "a comya" or a person who has been living in the region all their lives, "a binya".
Inspired by the many Gullah recipes I've learned, both Blends are all purpose and perfect as a rub for pork, chicken or use the spicy blend for gumbos, seafood and sautéed vegetables or has a savory topping for deviled eggs or popcorn.
